My business started the way most things do - with no plan at all.

I'd been working in the luxury and fashion industry for over a decade and didn't want to travel as much with two young kids. Who wouldn't trade runways in Paris and Milan for a dusty garage in Maroubra!

At a dinner party a friend saw a bedhead I'd created and said "why don't you post it on Etsy". That night I did and I woke up the next morning to my first sale.

Shortly after I was asked to create 20 bedheads for a cool motel in Melbourne that was being renovated and the rest, as they say, is Of This Place.

I've been restoring and redesigning furniture for years now and love to source hidden gems. Pieces that are worn, damaged, or painted over badly, with their real selves hidden underneath for me to bring back or create into something more contemporary.

Today my studio exists for my clients to have an alternative to replacing their furniture with new items. A place where the craft is taken seriously, and the pieces that come through it leave better than they arrived. 

I reuse material as much as possible. So your new drawer runners might be made of Oak off an old 1900's dresser.
